It's been a little over 2 years now since I've acquired any new tattoos, but I still love the ones I have and get asked about them often, finally had the means and time to do a small shoot featuring my pieces and talk about them a little.
Wearing Dead cropped basketball jersey from Drop Dead Clothing
I got my first tattoo on the day of my 18th birthday, on my shoulder. It started out as just the diamond /banner with inkblots on top and drips at the bottom, shortly after I got this tattoo I started working at this shop and eventually became shop manager for a bit and acquired a lot more ink during my time there before moving to Southern California. I wanted something to do with a diamond because of the song from Incubus and "even diamonds start as coal"
We eventually added some roses, spider webs etc to this piece.

Second piece I got was my left side/hip, a screaming hand grenade, original art from Jim Philips for Santa Cruz skateboards etc.

Third was my other hip, a piece originally drawn by Derek Hess for In Flames' album/cover "Come Clarity" one of my favorite bands, the image if of a figure/man holding his ripped out heart in front of him.
also done by John E Day at Syndicate Tattoo.
7 tally marks on the inside of my finger for Sevendust.
done in oceanside.
And my most recent piece was the large portrait on the back of my left leg, a really beautiful piece I found online drawn by a graphic designer, used the piece as inspo.

The script on the back of my legs say "Breathe Life" and "My Curse" two songs from another favorite band of mine: Killswitch Engage
Done out of haste in Orange county, lol.
And a small bat on the back of my ankle because BATS!
done in Oceanside.
